Filton® Rotary Unions
At Nuraseal, we realize that making the right choice of Filton® Rotary Union for your application can be a detailed exercise.
To assist you in this process, we have developed our online resources to provide you with much of the technical information you need to make informed decisions about individual rotary union models, installation procedures, part number schematics, maintenance and lubrication information as well as cross reference information.
As you work through the material, please keep in mind there are many additional factors which can have major impacts on selection, performance and rotary union life including the type (and temperature) of the fluid being transferred, the flow rate and pressure, the ambient temperature and rotational speed, the direction of rotation and the working cycle. We encourage you to Contact Us whenever you have questions, concerns or require more detailed information than is presented here.

Rotary Union Models
A Rotary Union is a device which can be connected to a rotating shaft and allows for the leak-proof transfer of fluids to and from a stationary source service. When selecting the correct rotary union model for your particular application, the vital components to consider include the rotary seals and the bearing support systems.
Our standard range varies from simple knuckle joints to models containing double row ball bearings for heavier duty.
Air Breather Filters
Air breather filters allow for the flow of clean air to and from a closed chamber where balanced atmospheric pressure is required, such as in gear boxes, bearings operating at high speed and hydraulic power packs.
When the working conditions are beyond the limitations of standard rotary unions or swivel joints, Filton can design and manufacture these to meet customers specific requirements.
Filton recommend that their Rotary Unions are connected by flexible hoses. Hoses to carry air, water, gas, steam, hot oil services and low pressure oil are all available.
